MAXXON Cage Fly Reel

The MAXXON CAGE is a fully caged, full-frame fly reel built for anglers targeting powerful fish with single-hand, switch, and two-handed Spey rods. The full-frame design adds structural strength and stability while helping prevent thin running line and monofilament from getting pulled into the frame and wrapped around the main shaft.

Built for demanding conditions, the CAGE features a fully sealed internal system with a powerful multi-disc carbon drag and three-bearing support for smooth operation. Its CNC-machined 6061-T6 aerospace-grade aluminum construction is hard-anodized for protection against harsh fishing environments, making it especially well suited for saltwater and big-game applications.

The CAGE also incorporates MAXXON's Tuff Torque center-shaft locking design, which integrates the spool with the drag system to provide maximum fighting power when dealing with powerful fish. Its extra-wide body and mid-arbor spool maximize line capacity, while the included TRAXX numbered caps make it easy to keep track of the line weight on each spool.

Available in 8 WT, 10 WT, and 12 WT sizes, the CAGE can accommodate fly lines smaller than its recommended rating as well as larger lines when using less backing.

Uptide Take

The CAGE is built for situations where your reel needs to be just as serious as the fish you're chasing. The full-frame design, sealed carbon drag, and oversized capacity make it a natural choice for saltwater and big-game applications, while its compatibility with switch and Spey rods gives it plenty of versatility beyond the flats.
