Kaufmann’s Stone Fly – Black (#10)

The Kaufmann’s Stone Fly – Black is a heavyweight stonefly nymph built for fast water and deep presentations. Designed to imitate large stonefly nymphs, this pattern is especially effective during spring and early summer stonefly activity when trout and smallmouth are feeding aggressively below the surface.

Its segmented body creates a natural stonefly profile, while the weighted construction helps the fly reach feeding depth quickly. The dark coloration and subtle sheen provide a realistic presentation in a variety of river conditions.

Fish it through pocket water, riffles, and deep seams where larger fish are likely to hold. It's an excellent choice for deep nymphing rigs on both freestone rivers and tailwaters.
