Some days you're throwing streamers for bass. Other days you're standing on a flat looking for redfish. The Hybrid was built for anglers who want one capable fly setup that can legitimately cross between freshwater and inshore saltwater without pretending one rod is perfect for everything.
At the center is the MAXXON Double XX 9' 7WT, paired with a Cheeky Drip 425 and Cortland Tropic Plus All Purpose WF7 floating line. The 7WT gives you enough backbone for larger flies, wind, bass, carp, and inshore species while remaining practical when you're back on freshwater.
The setup includes 20 lb backing along with both freshwater and saltwater tapered leaders, giving you the terminal options to switch environments without rebuilding the core setup. Pick the water, choose the appropriate leader, tie on a fly, and fish.

Uptide Take
A 7WT isn't going to replace a delicate trout rod or a heavy tarpon setup—and that's not what the Hybrid is supposed to do. It's for the angler who might fish bass and carp one weekend and head for the Texas coast the next. If you want one setup capable of spending meaningful time on both kinds of water, this is where we'd start.
