Cheeky Burst Fly Reel

The Cheeky Burst Fly Reel is a lightweight, fully sealed reel designed around strength, simplicity, and a distinctive look. Inspired by the interwoven structure of mangrove branches, streamside logjams, and beaver dams, its unique frame design creates a strong structural matrix while keeping the reel light in the hand.

The Burst features a fully sealed disc drag with smooth startup and plenty of stopping power, making it a capable option for freshwater anglers targeting trout, grayling, and bluegill. Its MAX Arbor spool measures 3.25 inches in diameter and retrieves up to 10.2 inches of line per revolution, providing fast line pickup while maintaining a lightweight overall design.

The CNC-machined aerospace aluminum construction, integrated reel foot, and rounded line-wrap surfaces add durability and functionality without making the reel unnecessarily complicated. A quick-change spool and simple left- or right-hand retrieve conversion make the Burst easy to set up and use on the water.

Uptide Take

The Burst brings a lot to the table without getting overly complicated. It's light, fully sealed, quick to change, and has the kind of fast line pickup that makes a large-arbor reel so useful. And honestly, the branch-inspired frame gives it a look that's unlike just about anything else in this price range.
