Big Moppa

The Big Moppa is a large-profile bull redfish fly designed to put a substantial meal in front of cruising reds without the weight of a heavier pattern.

Built on a stout Ahrex SA220 Streamer S/E 1/0 hook, the Big Moppa uses bead chain eyes for a lighter presentation that still gets the fly down while allowing for a softer entry. The thick Mop Chenille head creates a substantial profile, while Craft Fur and Strung Hackle provide a combination of flowing movement and bulk.

A touch of French Quarter Flash adds just enough attraction without overwhelming the profile. The result is a large, mobile pattern that's well suited for targeting bull redfish in shallow or cruising situations where a lighter presentation is an advantage.
